Just stayed here last week and loved it. The rooms were not that great and after a long day of ocean fishing, relaxing in the room and being able to either watch TV or use WiFi would have been nice but the rooms lack those. With it being Alaska and a fishing trip, I got over that. The lodge was very nice and never overly packed. The food was damn good and I was surprised by that honestly since its so remote but everything on the menu was fantastic! The employees were very nice but at times it felt like the service was lacking and took a while to come around and certain waitresses forgot to even ask our drink orders when we went to the restaurant BUT everything was still perfect in the end. The package deal we were on was well put together which included all of our meals (minus appetizers and booze) so it was nice not having to worry about all that. Fishing the ocean with Captain Bill: He was an amazing guide for the ocean and taught me a lot about how to fish the ocean and for certain species and knows his stuff. Pete took care of us while there and made sure we were squared away and didn't need anything and was very accommodating. We will not hesitate to use GBL for our future Alaska trips. Great food. Friendly service. Awesome experience. Bar was well stocked. Laid back atmosphere. Nice people. Looked around to see what was there. The main lodge is nice, rooms are a bit rustic. No TV, no wifi, bring your own entertainment. Tv and wifi available in the main lodge. Good food and bar in the main lodge.
