I recently chartered with Mark several times and had a great time, lots of laughs and some big fish. Accommodations were just right with several options available. He has ocean skiffs and some drift boats if you want to fish the Situk. Vacuum sealing and freezers on site to preserve your catch. Local area has several stores available for groceries, hardware store and fly shop with a very good selection of fishing gear, a bar/liquor store close by. I'll definetly be fishing with Mark on future trips. If you find yourself planning a trip to Yakutat give him a call. Good luck fishing and have a great time. Mark is by far one the best captains i have ever fished best in yakutat Mark Sappington is an excellent salt water guide, the best myself and our group have ever used. We have gone out with Mark about 10-12 times over the years, always successful, very safety oriented, fun to be around and knowledgeable about his community and waters surrounding Yakutat. I simply could not recommend him anymore. Our group will be coming back again in 2014 and we are already looking forward to visiting him again and the great community that is Yakutat. Quite possibly the best guide in Alaska!
